SJA Jaguars v Beachwood

The Jags defeated ranked Beachwood, 58-48.


The Jags were led by senior Brittany Morrison and sophomore Gia DiMassa. Brittany had 21 points, 22 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 blocks. Gia added 19 points, including 4 3-pointers, and some clutch free throws to close out the game.


Sophomore Colleen Drellishak contributed 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 rebounds, and played some determined defense. Sophomore Claire Orsagos continued to provide solid floor leadership and also had 3 steals.


Senior Hailey Grant had 5 points, 3 assists, and 4 rebounds. Freshman Kathleen DeCarlo provided quality minutes and had 6 points and 6 rebounds.

SJA Jaguars v SVSM

The rapidly improving and young Jaguar basketball team pulled a monster upset and stunned visiting and highly ranked Saint Vincent Saint Mary, 63-56.




 From the opening tip the Jags outhustled and outworked their opponent. The youthful Jags led by 12 points at half, and showed the poise of a veteran team as it withstood a fourth quarter rally by SVSM to hang on for the victory. The Jags continue to receive contributions from multiple players.




The dynamic backcourt combo of sophomores Gia DiMassa and Claire Orsagos struck again. Gia had 16 points, 4 assists, 2 steals, and showed great poise during the tense fourth quarter. Claire had 3 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and a very aggressive floor game and great floor leadership.




Senior Brittany Morrison had 17 points, 15 rebounds, 2 blocks, 3 steals, and hit some clutch free throws down the stretch.
 Senior Hailey Grant had 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, including 3 huge, 3 pointers.
Freshman Molly Dever added 9 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, in addition to aggressive defense and a solid overall floor game.
Freshman Kathleen DeCarlo had 4  points and 7 important rebounds down the stretch.
Freshman Bre coleman was called upon to shut down their leading scorer in the fourth quarter, and thoroughly did the job with aggressive defense.

SJA Jaguars v Cleveland Hts.

The Jags overcame a 16-2 first quarter deficit and rallied to defeat Cleveland Heights, 40-36.


Despite poor shooting, the young and scrappy Jags used tenacity, grit, and defense to scratch and claw their way to victory. The youthful Jags refused to lose!


The Jags were led by senior Brittany Morrison with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Sophomore guard Gia DiMassa had 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals. Sophomore Claire Orsagos had 7 points and 3 steals in addition to a hustling overall floor game.
Senior Hailey Grant added 5 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Sophomore Colleen Drellishak contributed 3 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals.


Although they did not score, freshmen Molly Dever, Bre Coleman, Kathleen DeCarlo and Junior Rachel Kean were a huge part of the comeback with their their hustle, defense, and overall physical play. Sophomore Ellen Vichill also added 3 points on a timely 3-pointer and had 3 rebounds.

SJA Jaguars v Avon

The youthful Jags played their hearts out but lost to a talented Avon team, 63-52.

 The Jags led at halftime, but could not sustain momentum in the second half.

The Jags were led by a monster and dominating performance from senior Brittany Morrison  who registered 29 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 steals.
Senior Hailey Grant played solid basketball and contributed 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Sophomore guard Gia DiMassa added 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Sophomore point guard Claire Orsagos, playing with an injury the entire game, had her usual high energy floor game, high defensive intensity also added 3 assists and 2 steals.


Freshman Molly Dever also had a hustling floor game, played solid defense, and added 3 steals.

SJA Jaguars v Mentor

The Jaguars were defeated by Mentor, 49-47.

 After a rough first quarter the Jags battled valiantly, but 
were unable to complete their comeback. 

The Jags were led by sophomore Gia DiMassa with 19 points, 2 assists and 2 steals. 
Sophomore Claire Orsagos contributed 7 points, 4 assists, 1 charge and an aggressive floor game. 

Junior Rachael Kean had 5 rebounds and solid defense. 

Freshmen, Kathleen DeCarlo, Bre Coleman and Molly Dever 
injected energy into the team and were a major part of the 
Jags spirited comeback attempt. 

SJA Jaguars v Orville

The youthful Jaguars lost its season opener 43-39 to the
 Orville Red Riders, in the Stark County Hoopfest at 
Walsh University.

 The Jags were led by sophomore Colleen Drellishak's 10 
rebounds and 4 points. Sophomore Gia DiMassa added 
8 points and a fine overall floor game. Gia also received the 
player of the game award for her performance. 

Senior Hailey Grant contributed 7 points and 4 assists.
 Senior Brittany Morrison added 12 points and 8 rebounds.

Playoffs- SJA v Rhodes

The Jags defeated Rhodes 82-30 in sectional play.

As a team, the Jags passed the ball beautifully as they registered 20 assists as a team.

The Jags were led by a career high 22 points from senior Nicole McManamon. Nicole also added 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

Junior Brittany Morrison added 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. Junior Hailey Grant added 11 points. Freshman Ariana Gray contributed 14 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 9 blocks, and 4 steals.

Playoffs - SJA vs Valley Forge

In the first round of the state playoffs on February 15th, the Jags defeated an overmatched Valley Forge team, 69-27.

 The game provided an opportunity for all players to contribute. 

Senior Grace Mullen scored 7 points and played solid team basketball by contributing 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and some efficient passing and good team basketball.

Senior Nicole McManamon and freshman Gia DiMassa added 9 points each in limited play.

Freshman Ariana Gray continues to learn, develop, and make progress, and broke out in impressive fashion. Ariana had 21 points, 12 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 3 steals.

SJA vs Magnificat

The Jags lost to Magnificat, 63-48.

The Jags were led by freshman Gia DiMassa with 11 points and 3 assists.

Junior Brittany Morrison added 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Junior Hailey Grant added 11 points, including 3, 3-pointers

SJA vs Hathaway Brown

In a 42-33 victory over Hathaway Brown February 8th, the Jags dialed up some old-fashioned basketball by playing efficient offense and tenacious team defense. 

The Jags were led by junior Brittany Morrison with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Senior Greta Burry added 7 points and 7 rebounds, but more importantly directed and led the Jags team defense. 

Despite not scoring, freshman point guard Gia DiMassa played a solid game at the point by dishing out 7 assists and directed and led the efficient offensive performance. Senior Nicole McManamon added 9 points and an overall hustling floor game at both ends.

SJA vs Padua

On February 6th, the Jags defeated Padua in a dominating performance, 57-41. 

The Jags led by 33 points after 3 quarters. The Jags played with efficiency on offense and with desire and technique on defense. 

The Jags were led by Junior Brittany Morrison with 14 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 3 steals. Senior Greta Burry led the defense, and also added 11 points, 4 steals, and 2 blocks. Junior Hailey Grant had 9 points, all on 3-pointers. Freshman point guard Gia DiMassa contributed 4 points and an unselfish 4 assists.

SJA vs Medina Highland

On February 4th, the Jaguars beat Medina Highland 48-44. 

The Jags were led by hard working Senior Greta Burry who had 21 points and 10 rebounds. 

Junior Brittany Morrison contributed with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Nicole McManamon had 11 points, including 3, 3-pointers.

SJA vs Avon Lake

On February 1st, the Jags defeated Avon Lake 69- 31. 

The Jags had balance throughout as all players contributed in some fashion. 

Senior Greta Burry had 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals. Freshman Gia DiMassa added 14 points, including 4, 3-pointers.

SJA vs Mentor

On January 31st, the Jags lost to a hot shooting Mentor team 70-51.

 Seniors Greta Burry and Nicole McManamon had 13 and 10 points, respectively.  Junior Brittany Morrison added 12 points. 

Freshman Ariana Gray made her season debut and finished with 7 points and led the team in rebounding with 7 boards in limited action.

Rescheduled Mentor game

The game against Mentor that was scheduld for 1/29 has been rescheduled for Friday, January 31st.

SJA vs Magnificat

On January 25th,  Magnificat  defeated the Jags by a score of 52-36.

Senior Nicole McManamon had 12 points while junior Hailey Grant added 10 points.

SJA vs Lake Catholic

On January 27th the Jags defeated Lake Catholic 54-45. 

The Jags were led by Senior Greta Burry who registered a double double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Greta also added 3 assists, 2 steals, and 4 blocks.  

Junior Brittany Morrison had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Nicole Mcmanamon had 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.

SJA v Gilmore Academy

On January 20th, the Jags defeated Gilmour Academy 63-52 before a large crowd at St. Edward High School. 

The Jags controlled the game from start to finish. Senior Greta Burry led the way with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals. 

Sophomore Natasha Martinez had 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. Senior Nicole McManamon added 11 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Junior Brittany  Morrison dominated the glass with 16 rebounds.

SJA v Youngstown Ursuline

On January 18th, the Jags defeated Youngstown Ursuline 52-19. 

Junior Brittany Morrison led the way with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals. 

Senior Grace Mullen, although scoring only 2 points, added 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and played a solid floor game for the Jags.

SJA vs Riverside

The Jags defeated Painesville Riverside 69-24. 

Senior Nicole McManamon had 19 points, including four 3 pointers and added 6 steals. 

Senior Greta Burry had 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 steals. 

Sophomore Natasha Martinez had 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals.

SJA vs Brunswick

The Jags were defeated by a hot shooting Brunswick team 57-38. 

The Jags countered with a dismal 4-33 shooting performance from beyond the arc. 

Senior Nicole McManamon led the Jags with 13 points, including three 3 pointers and also led the Jags in hustle.

SJA vs Shaker

The Jaguars rallied from 15-7 first quarter deficit and defeated Shaker Heights 53-44. The Jags dominated the second and third quarters by outscoring Shaker 35-11 in those 2 quarters. 

The Jags were led by freshman point guard Gia DiMassa with 14 points, including clutch free throws down the stretch. Gia also handled the ball superbly against intense Shaker ball presssure. 

Junior Brittany Morrison added 10 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Hailey Grant contributed 3 key, 3-point field goals during the Jags big run. Senior Bethany Weisenseel also contributed two key 3 point field goals. 

Senior Nicole McManamon had only 3 points, but had large contributions; 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and a high energy floor game. 

Senior Greta Burry had 6 points but continued her unslefish play with 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 blocks, and 5 steals. Greta also assisted in handling the intense shaker pressure with some veteran ball handling and decision making.

Sophomore Rachael Kean added 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. Freshman Claire Orsagos, back from injury, contributed 9 points, 2 assists, and 3 steals.
