SJA Jaguars v Brusnwick

The young Jags took another step in their development with an exciting 51-49 victory over a ranked Brunswick team.




Sophomore Colleen Drellishak made a game winning layup as time expired.
Freshman Kathleen DeCarlo led the Jags with 13 points, including 11 points in the second quarter.
Sophomore Gia DiMassa had 11 points, including 3, 3-pointers. Gia also added 4 assists.
Senior Brittany Morrison added 10 points and 15 rebounds.

SJA Jaguars v Berea-Midpark

The Jags sputtered in all phases in losing to Berea-Midpark, 53-47.
The game saw Berea make 8, 3-pointers coupled with some very accurate free throw shooting.
For the Jags, sophomore Claire Orsagos had 8 points and 6 assists.
Freshman Kathleen DeCarlo had 13 big rebounds.
Senior Brittany Morrison had 15 points and 7 rebounds.

SJA Jaguars v Pickerington


The Jags played exciting basketball, but lost at the end to highly touted Pickerington Central, 75-66.


The Jags were led by sophomore Gia DiMassa with 16 points, including 3, 3-pointers.
Sophomore Claire Orsagos had 8 points, including 2-3 pointers, and added 6 assists.
Senior Hailey Grant had 11 points including 3,3-pointers. Freshman Molly Dever had 10 points.
Senior Brittany Morrison added 10 points and 9 rebounds.

SJA Jaguars v Shaker Heights

The Jags defeated a rugged Shaker Heights team, 54-44.


Despite being outsized, the Jags scratched and clawed their way to victory.
The Jags were sparked by sophomore Colleeen Drellishak with 4 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, and a charge.
Senior Hailey Grant had 11 points, including 3,3-pointers, 2 assists, and a charge.
Senior Brittany Morrison added 18 points,14 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
Sophomore Gia DiMassa contributed 14 points.
Sophomore Claire Orsagos added 5 big assists and took 2 charges.

SJA v Archbishop Hoban

The young Jags continue to improve as they upset ranked Archbishop Hoban, 50-43.
It was truly a “team” effort as the Jags received contributions from many. The “team” defense was outstanding.
Freshman Kathleen DeCarlo paved the way with 6 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Senior Brittany Morrison had 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Sophomore Gia DiMassa had 8 points, 2 assists, and hit some big free throws down the stretch.
Sophomore Colleen Drellishak had 8 big points, all in the tense second half.
Sophomore Claire Orsagos, despite sitting out with foul trouble, had 8 points, including a clutch 3 pointer late in the game.
Freshman Bre Coleman had 6 points, played solid defense, and had a hustling floor game.

SJA Jaguars v Youngstown Ursuline

The Jags defeated Youngstown Ursuline, 55-28.


The Jags were led by sophomore Ellen Vichill with 13 points, including 3, 3-pointers.


Senior Hailey Grant added 12 points, on 4,3-pointers.


Junior Rachael Kean had 4 points and 6 steals.

SJA Jaguars v Walsh Jesuit


The Jags came up with a huge road victory, by defeating Walsh Jesuit, 63-59, in the finals of the Walsh Jesuit holiday tournament.


Senior Brittany Morrison was named tournament MVP, and sophomore Gia DiMassa was named to the all-tournament team.


Gia had 13 points, and for the second night in a row, hit some clutch free throws late in the game. Brittany had 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Junior Rachael Kean was on fire from long distance, and had 13 points, including 4, 3-pointers. Rachael also played some smart defense.
Freshman Bre Coleman was clutch in the fourth, when she scored 5 of her 7 total points. Bre also hit some clutch free throws late in the game.
Senior Hailey Grant added 7 points and 3 assists. Sophomore point guard Claire Orsagos continued her solid overall floor game performance and also added 5 big assists. Claire also hit some huge free throws in the hectic fourth quarter, including the game clincher with 6 seconds remaining.

The game also saw head coach Maggie Ferrando earn her 100th career high school victory.

SJA Jaguars v Massillon Perry


The youthful Jags defeated a talented Massillon Perry team, 59-55.
The Jags were led by sophomores Colleen Drellishak and Gia DiMassa. Colleen had 13 points, a very spirited floor game and played some very active defense. Gia added 15 points, including 3, 3-pointers and also converted 4 clutch free throws down the stretch.
Freshman Bre Coleman had 9 points and played solid defense. Freshman Kathleen DeCarlo played physical defense and contributed 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal. Freshman Molly Dever added 6 points and 3 steals.
Senior Brittany Morrison had 8 points and 14 rebounds before fouling out.
Sophomore Claire Orsagos added 3 assists and continues to be the tough and spirited floor leader of this young team.

SJA Jaguars v Lake Catholic


The Jaguars defeated Lake Catholic, 68-21.


The game saw 10 Jaguars score in the contest.
The Jags were led by sophomore Colleen Drellishak with 12 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
Senior Hailey Grant added 6 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Freshman Kathleen DeCarlo had 9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals.
Freshman Molly Dever had 7 points and 6 steals.
Junior Rachael Kean had 9 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
Senior Brittany Morrison had 10 points, 4 blocks and 4 steals.

SJA Jaguars v Magnificat


Once again, the Jags ran into a hot shooting team, as Magnificat defeated the Jags, 69-50.
The Jags also had 20-plus turnovers for the second game in a row.
The Jags were led by freshman Molly Dever who had 10 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals.
Senior Brittany Morrison had 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Sophomore point guard Claire Orsagos had a hustling and spirited floor game.

SJA Jaguars v Gilmore

The Jags lost to a hot shooting and talented Gilmour team, 74-58.
Although the Jags trailed from start to finish, they displayed a fighting spirit up until the end of the game.  In addition to the hot shooting of Gilmour, the Jags committed 21 turnovers of their own.
The Jags were led by the hustle and determination of freshmen Molly Dever and Bre Coleman. Molly had 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and an aggressive overall floor game. Bre added 11 points, 4 steals, and also had an aggressive overall floor game.
Sophomore point guard Claire Orsagos contributed 9 big assists, 4 steals, 3 points, and a solid floor game.
Senior Hailey Grant had 9 points, including 3, 3-pointers. Senior Brittany Morrison had 16 points.
